Good Friday Procession is led by the
"Crocione", a large wooden cross carried by a young man of Parrano. Carrying
this big cross requires great phisical strength, and it is something the
young men are proud of. The special illuminated cross bears the symbols of the
Passion, and the perforated illuminated planks of wood carry the words spoken
by Jesus on the cross. In the torchlight, the faithful pray and sing an
ancient "Stabat mater", which is probably of local origin.
