Cerveteri, situated near Rome was one of the most important Etruscan
Cities. It was an important trading centre.
Gold jewellery and vases were of particularly fine workmanship and
the craft of "Bucchero" ware also originated here.
Nowadays it is known for its monumental necropolis. It's one of the
largest necropolis of ancient world and it is famous for the number
and wealth of the tombs discovered.
The "Banditaccia", with painted and decorated tombs, represents one
of the most important and interesting archeological areas in Italy.
Cerveteri has an important museum that preserves vases, amphorae,
bronzes and silver objects.
