Chiusi is a very famous archeological centre: the Etruscan town had its largest expansion between the 7th and the 5th century b.C., then it fell under the Roman power.

  Museum of Cathedral: this museum preserves a lovely collection of illuminated religious books from the 15 and 16C, coming from the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, gold and silver ware, reliquaries, and religious ornaments. Archeological Museum : This museum displays many objects from the neighbouring Chiusi necropolises: sarcophaguses, cippi and funerary urns, as well as sculptures, Canopuses (Egyptian human-headed vases), commemorative plaques made of clay, vases, lamps, and jewelry .
