The " EROICA" bicycle race

In October, in Chianti, takes place the "Eroica".

The bicycle race is reserved to amateur racing cyclist and cycle tourist, of any age, including women. The race departs and arrive in Gaiole in Chianti, and includes two short routes of 35 and 75 km, one middle route of 135 km and the longer way of 200 km.

Rather than a competition, the "Eroica" is a meeting, a great festival to which participate cycle passionated. The prize is given to the best 50 competitors who have better identified with the character.

Therefore here are the leather crask helmets, the tubular tyres over one's shoulders and period bicycles.

Informations and regulations:

The event is organized in collaboration with the Cycling League of the UISP Siena. People wishing to partecipate must have a valid racing licence released by the UISP, the FCI or any other Italian sports federation. Foreign licenses are gladly accepted.
