POST OFFICES
Poste Italiane is a public service with an important social role of a
global service. Present throughout Italy, it boasts a network of 14,000
post offices, over 200 sorting centres for mail and parcels, over 46,000
postmen and postwomen, 2,700 ATMs, 38,000 POS, 17 daily air routes, and
over 40,000 vehicles.
Poste Italiane plays an all-important role for citizens, small and
medium enterprises, big businesses and bodies of public administration.
Each customer represents a specific request and a very important
comparison at a national and international level, in order to improve
the services and products offered.
Post Offices are generally open from 8 am 1:30 or 2 pm from Monday to
Friday, Saturday 8 11:45 am. Some counters (e.g. registered mail,
telegrams, etc.) have different hours and in the main cities they may
also be open in the afternoon.

Posta Prioritaria (priority mail): Poste Italiane's
fast domestic and international service.

Posta Raccomandata (registered mail): Poste Italiane's
product having legal, certification validity and providing additional
services, such as advice of delivery and C.O.D. (cash-on-delivery).

Posta Assicurata (insured mail): Poste Italiane's
product allowing to insure items.

Postacelere 1 Plus (express mail): Poste Italiane's
service to send to all destinations in Italy documents weighing up to 3
kg and sized up to 45.5 x 32 x 5 cm, granting delivery in 1 working day
from day of posting anywhere in Italy. Saturday delivery is provided in
more than 750 municipalities.
